1. Drink plenty of water
The first thing that you should be doing right after waking up in the morning is to drink plenty of water. After 7-8 hours of sleep our body gets dehydrated and intake of sufficient water keeps it hydrated. Intake of water in the morning helps you flush out all the toxins and increases the production of new blood and muscle cells. On an average a person should drink 7-8 glasses of water in a day. You tend to eat less if you drink plenty of water, because many a times your body gets confuse between thirst and hunger, and most of the time you eat food while your body actually needed water.
2. Stretch your body
Stretching is very important for body fitness. One to five minutes of stretching in the morning helps to increase the blood flow to your muscles. More blood in your muscles means more energy in the morning. Stretching also increases blood flow to your brain and sharpens your concentration in the morning
3. Always eat your breakfast
Breakfast is considered an important meal because it breaks the overnight fasting period of 8-10 hours. Eating a healthy and nutritious breakfast helps to maintain healthy weight. People who skip their breakfast feels less energetic and tend to over eat during later part of the day. This morning meal helps in maintaining blood sugar levels in your body and gives you all the energy to kick start your day.
4. Eat mindfully
Being aware of what you are eating and how much you are eating is very important. Making right choices of meal is key here. When you buy grocery for the entire week make sure you buy healthy food, so that you end up eating what you have stored in your refrigerator. And most importantly eat slowly and enjoy your meal. Avoid watching TV or laptop while having meal, because while engaging in other activity we end up over eat.
5. Go for short walks
Sometimes taking out an hour for exercise gets difficult because of our busy schedule. But you can always take out few minutes to stay healthy. Try go for a short walk of 10-15 mins post your lunch and dinner. These short walks really makes you refreshed and reduces your stress level. Over weekends when you are planning to go for grocery shopping or to run any other errands try to walk if distance to grocery store from your home is walkable, that way your time spend in traffic and looking for parking on a busy day can be used wisely.
6. Deep breathing
We all breath continuously to stay alive, but we do not focus on our breathing. So basically we rarely take a deep breath in a day. Deep breathing needs little attention but you can do this effortless exercise anytime and anywhere. All you have to do is to breath in through your nose, hold the breath for a second or two and then slowly breath out through your mouth. Breathing exercise has innumerable benefits. It reduces your stress level, lowers your heart rate and blood pressure. It also help to increase your energy level and concentration.
7. Get enough sleep
Adequate sleep is very important for healthy lifestyle. Like food and exercise, a good night sleep plays a crucial role to keep your heart healthy and helps to maintain healthy weight. An adult needs sleep of 7-8 hours on an average. Lot of activity happens while you are asleep which helps to repair your muscles and improve your memory and concentration. Lack of sleep promotes various health issues.

Taking a few minutes to focus on your mind each day can reduce stress, pain, depression, and more. You can't see or touch stress, but you can feel its effects on your mind and body. Human body processes thousands of though every minute, which can be positive or negative. A positive thought has positive impact on body while a negative thought leaves a negative impression on your body.
