In the city of love : Paris

If travelling is food for soul then my soul is craving for french food this time. And more than food I was excited to explore the city of love and lights. When you first think of Paris the first thing which comes to your mind is Eiffel Tower, but this city has more to offer. With so much things to do and see in Paris, you should be able to narrow your choices according to your personal taste and still manage to see top attractions.

Attractions which you do not want to miss.

  1. Eiffel Tower
    2. Your trip to Paris cannot be complete without vising the most beautiful icon Eiffel tower. This masterpiece was built by French architect and engineer Gustave Eiffel. Visitors can take the elevator to go all the way up to the tower where you can see the panoramic view of the city. I strongly recommend to see this iron lady in the evening when it is lighten up. Also at every hour in the evening all the flickering bulbs lighten up to make it look sparkle and breathtaking. So do no miss the chance to see the iron lady in the evening.

  2. Louvre museum
    3. Paris is a global center of art and Louvre museum is one of the best art museum of world. Once you have met your iron lady its time to meet world famous Mona lisa who is waiting for you in louvre museum. However its not only Mona lisa but plenty of other beautiful arts and sculpture waiting for you, because this world class museum is simply enormous and it will take approximately 75 days to view the entire museum if you spend simply 60 seconds at each art. If you do not want to get lost in the massive place of paintings and sculptures priotize the arts which you don't want to miss and unexplored.

  3. Notre de dame
    4. Notre dame or Notre dame cathederal is one of the masterpiece of Gothic architecture. It is one of the famous public landmark which is situated right along the beautiful Seine river. The cathedral looks amazing from inside and outside. Going at the top of Notre dame is very popular activity and the efforts of going all the way up to the tower is totally worth because of the panoramic view of the city and famous Parisian icons like Eiffel tower and Seine river.

  4. Arch the triomphe
    5. Stands at the western end of the famous Champs ellyse Arch de triomphe is one of the world's best commemorative monument in France. Also this magnificent centerpiece is the one of biggest arch of the world. Going all the way up on this world class monument and taking all those steps 286 is totally worth due to breathtaking view of the city. Elevators are accessible for those who are unable to climb stairs or carrying young children.

    Going up on the Eiffil tower is simply over hyped and time consuming especially where the queues are really long in summers. So its best to go at the Arc de triomphe where you can see the panoramic view of the city. Also Its a great place where you can see your iron lady (Eiffel tower) and take beautiful pictures of the entire city.

  5. Palace of versaille
    6. Palace of versailles was the French royal residence of king Louis. It is located 14 miles southwest of Paris in the beautiful town of versailles. There is so much to see in the palace of versailles which will easily occupy your whole one day and still unable to see this place at its fullest. Hall of mirrors, the royal chapel, the royal opera house, King's private apartment are favorite amongst visitors. It is always wise to priotise things which you want see in this palace. Once your tour to palace is somewhat complete head towards garden of palace which is exemplary of french style garden. Its so huge and beautiful to easily get lost in its beauty. There are few restaurants inside the garden where you can eat food and get relax.

  6. Tulleries garden
    7. Located between the louvre museum and the Place de la concorde, Tulleries garden is the perfect place to relax and stroll after a long and tiring walk in louvre museum. The beautiful fountains, sculptures and french bars and small restaurants makes this place ideal for everyone to get refresh and spend some quality time. There are numerous benches where you can sit along with your family and take a good nap as well.

  7. Luxembarg garden
    8. Paris is a place where you cannot relax because there is so much to see and explore and you will find yourself walking all the time and feel exhausted. You will definitely admire luxembourg garden where you can stroll on your pace and enjoy the beautiful monuments, ponds and fountains. Luxembourge garden is a place for all ages where there is huge kids playground, court for basketball and baseball, older people playing chess and enjoying their wine.

  8. Sacre coeur Basilica of Monmartre
    9. The basilica of Sacre coeur is one of the most visited monument of Paris. It is located at the hill top of montmartre and second highest point of Paris after Eiffel tower to enjoy the panoramic view of the city. This Roman catholic is beautiful from inside outside where you can sit for long time enjoy the sunset and sparkling Eiffel tower when it is lighten up in the evening. After visiting this beautiful monument you can see the neighbourhood of montmartre which is a perfect place for eating food and some shopping.

    10. Seine river divides the city into two parts left bank and right bank where most of iconic landmarks are located. I would highly recommend 1 hour seine river cruise tour to see the glimpse of french architecture from water. Paris is a city where you will see many famous bridge which looks outstanding from cruise. From Louvre museum to Notre dame and passing by the stunning Eiffel tower you can introduce yourself to the most beautiful icons of city of lights.

    11. The delightful way to end your Paris visit is do to some shopping and get souvenirs for your loved ones. There are plenty of souvenirs which you can get home like Chocolates, replica of famous monuments, cabre, wine and much more. Because paris is also known as fashion capital of France and I and you cannot miss this wonderful opportunity to add more beautiful stuff to our wardrobe.
