Nail rubbing technique also called Balayam in Indian culture. Where Bal means hair and vyayam means exercise. So it is basically exercise for hair. This exercise, if done regularly can result dense, thick and healthy hair. In this yoga practice, nail fingers of both the hands rubbed together for 5-10 minutes. It stimulates blood circulation on your scalp and you will also feel tingling on your scalp. As this exercise is for stimulating hair growth, its is advised that you should focus on your scalp while performing this exercise.
Famous Yoga guru Baba Ramdeva also emphasized on this yoga technique. Well there is no scientific evidence behind this technique, but many people are benefited from this practice(including me). Most importantly it is the easiest exercise which you can do while travelling, walking, talking or at any point of time when your hands are free. Also there is no cost involved in his exercise.
How and when should you do this exercise?
It is recommended to do this yoga twice in a day, morning and evening. One can perform this exercise for 5-10 minutes each time. It should be done with empty stomach or 2 hours after the meal.
All you have to do is to half hold your hands and rub your fingernails together excluding the thumb. Also you can apply oil while rubbing your fingernails, as it brings shine on nails.
Precautions while doing this exercise.
- While performing this exercise, avoid rubbing your thumb nails. It may cause unwanted facial hair growth on your face. and ear.
- Those who suffers from high blood pressure problem should avoid this exercise, as this can worsen your problem.
- Pregnant women should also avoid this exercise, as it can elevates blood pressure and uterine contraction.
- If there is any infection around your nail finger skin, then avoid doing it.
My experience
I have been doing this exercise since last 4 months and I have seen positive results in my hair. Some of my grey hair started turning into black. Also my hair fall has been reduced. Though I am also practicing other yoga asanas along with nail rubbing. But its still worth trying exercise, since it does not involve any cost or efforts.
